Strategies to Change the World
Kristen Ostling is a Communications Strategist with a proven track record in managing and mobilizing communications resources to build organizations, engage the public and influence policy. She has successfully moved a wide range of social justice issues onto the media, political and public agendas.
Kristen led the strategic development of the Make Poverty History in Canada in 2005 and served on the International Facilitation Team of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty between 2005 and 2007. She works with the ONE Campaign based in Washington and with the Canadian Grandmothers for Africa providing ongoing strategic communications services.
Recent clients include the Canadian Global Campaign for Education and the Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development. She has experience working with NGOs on social and environmental justice issues including global poverty, climate change, HIV/AIDS, sustainability, peace and disarmament.
Offering strategic and practical insight into government, public and media relations, Kristen helps organizations to develop innovative and effective campaigns for positive social change.
Kristen has a background as a researcher and analyst in the areas of communications, advocacy, international political economy, models of social change, conflict analysis, the environment and energy.
Kristen Ostling has an M.A. in International Affairs from Carleton University's Norman Patterson School of International Affairs and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
